The internet is the first place to search for property

The internet has completely changed the way people sell, buy and let property.

In fact, in a recent survey, over 70% of home seekers use the Internet as the first port of call to find a property. Making the Internet the best method to advertise property.

So, make sure when you're selling your home that your estate agent has a website, or better still, is linked into a national database of estate agents.

Also check the photographs your estate agent has put up on the internet of your proprty. People scan and scroll through websites very quickly when using the internet, so your house must really stand out on the screen. If you don't like the photographs your estate agent has taken, ask them to come round and re-do them. Remember your estate agent is working for you!

Ask your estate agent if they use email marketing. Many estate agents now email new details out to the vendors on their books. If your estate agent doesn't do this they are missing a huge opportunity to market your house.
